Smosh is a YouTube channel led by American YouTubers, actors, and comedians Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla. In the summer of 2005, Hecox and Padilla graduated high school and were bored. They spent much of their time together in Anthony's bedroom and decided to make silly videos to have fun.They really didn't seem like Smosh members, just people who are there. Didn't stand out, despite having lead roles in some skits. I, honestly, don't know if they are gonna stick. Spencer and Tommy at least had worked behind the camera, before being in skits, and Jackie, Amanda, and Kimmy fit the Smosh vibe, imo. 1. Especially when Smosh does solo Shayne videos or includes people like Erin, Spencer and Tommy from the crew. There is just less need for the other cast to be brought in. Chanse, Amanda and Angela have seemly jumped priority over the other non full time cast so you are just going to see Olivia, Keith, Noah, Arasha less frequently.I assume they make some decent profit from their merch line. Also, given their absolutely MASSIVE back catalogue of old videos, and Smosh fans habit of rewatching things, I assume their ad rates are decent, even if they aren't bringing in a ton of new views immediately on all new videos, they probably do okay and then the back catalogue picks up the slack on leaner months.

The addition of Ian's mom in the announcement video was a masterstroke, she played her part perfectly and was an embodiment of Old Smosh being hilarious in 2023.
