Completely agree but in terms of what site to play on I go lichess. I previously played chess.con for most of my years of playing chess however I feel with the rising popularity of chess and the fact that new players will gravitate towards chess.com or lichess I think it is important to support the smaller site.Lichess is much better for live chess. But I think lichess should consider adding regular Swiss tournaments, without the co-co-combo breaker points and without rewarding fast players (ie., make them with regular rounds in the tournament). Lichess tournaments are fun and fast, but chess.com tournaments feel more «serious».Comparing between communities is a bit dangerous. The best way to compare between groups is to look at the rating distribution, and then look at the group differences. For Lichess, the distribution looks like this. For chess.com, the graph looks like this. Note the modes are quite different: lichess around 1625 and chess.com around 1250.

Chess.com tactics are a bit inpractical, but at least there's only one clear winning or drawing line. It does seem to me like Lichess selects for engine-like precision rather than practical applications of tactics. chess.com has far more, at least in the ~1600 tactics rating level.If chess.com flags you for rating manipulation for playing against someone multiple times in a row they are doing something very VERY wrong. As a counterexample I also played 13 of my first 14 correspondence games on chess.com against the same player. Would be different if one side won all the time, but that wasn't the case.

The only upside to chess.com is it's chess learning videos, rating system, and the bots to play against. But you can't beat free and if you're 2000+ Lichess is ...That makes a huge difference. That means a score of 2100 on lichess is "1.4 times better than average" (which is an oversimplification of how Elo is really calculated and what it represents) whereas a score of 1800 of chesscom is "1.5 times better than average", which is a very minor difference.
