There are two communication wires, one from controller to plow and the other goes the other way. Check the two little pins in the big power plug on the grill and check the little four ... The flashing light indicates "communication loss" which means you are on the right track. This plow has what they call multiplex controls. The hand held controller is a signal generator that sends a unique frequency down a single wire to the plow where it is decoded and then power is sent to the appropriate valve/s and the motor relay.A quick go to for the slow red light that you may get on the controller or loss of power.
