In bosses, about half your dmg comes from those 4 skill nodes and the other half from boost nodes. So it’s extremely inefficient to craft boost nodes if your goal is a bossing mule. Also having 3 boost nodes at level 16/17 to reach level 60 is fine. Classes that only need 1 trio for bossing benefit from this. 1.Depends on what your trying to do with your mules. In my experience, a strong class 15k stat at 220 (with 8k legion + nodes + decent guild skills) can kill all bosses upto lotus/Damien within 30 min.
