Why is my 4lo light flashing tundra
08 Crewmax 4wd with lots of flashing lights. 4hi 4lo and vsc lights flashing. ABS and traction control light on. 4wd will not engage, no anti lock brakes, and no traction control. This happened while driving on wet/icy road in 2wd. I stopped the truck and turned off. Started back up and same thing.If one switch sticks the warning light will flash because it doesn't know if it is in 2 or 4 or both at the same time. In my case it was the forward switch sticking causing the truck to still think it was in 4wd. Thus the confused flashing light. The part was about $90 at Toyota. It’s acting like it’s in 4lo and then I switch the gear to neutral and move the switch to 4lo then 4hi then 2wd! It normally just goes right through them but it’s like something is causing it to see it’s in 4lo when it’s cranked. I pulled my 4wd fuse in the cab to keep my 4hi and 4lo lights from flashing and clipped the wires coming out of the three positioning sensors on the manual t-case for 2hi, 4hi and 4 lo. Put a little grease on the coupler splines of the new transfer case and manipulate the output on the back of the transfer case to get it lined up.
