IMO one pull starts is one of the best things about the GX200 and the clones that came after. When the original linkage is removed to eliminate governor behavior you are starting the bike with the throttle completely closed. Now you need to use your left hand to slightly open the throttle during startup.That’s what the governor on my tillotson 212 limited itself to with no load. It’ll rev to about 4500 rpm with load. That's a lot different compared to a predator, Tillotsons are built to rev higher. Taking a bypassed predator with no billet parts to 5000rpm will almost certainly be catastrophic. There is no way to 'correctly' bypass the governor with linkages. You MUST open up the motor and remove the inner governor. It is VERY easy to do. The reason you must is there is a PLASTIC gear inside that controls the governor. You need to figure out where in the crank position the magnet is firing the coil. If it fires too soon, the engine kicks back. If you haven't touched the valves at all, and the only change is the flywheel and coil, then that's most likely the problem.
