FYI UCSD doesnt really have a lot of control over the enrollment numbers. Office of the UC president pretty much decides what each UC should be aiming for and thats what admissions has to target. Now overenrollments can be worse when admissions messes up, but the vitrol towards UCSD for the overenrollment is misplaced.
