The Brimstone Crag is a biome added by the Calamity Mod which spawns upon world creation. It can be found at the left side of The Underworld. It is composed of several large masses of Brimstone Slag half-buried in the ash, with deposits of Charred Ore interspersed within it.This definitely seems like a bug you might have to start another world or just ignore the sunken sea like I did and beat the mod without even going there. But just in case make sure you check for other calamity biomes if they don’t exist than it’s completely unplayable. The planetoids and the abyss are there. It's just the sunken sea.

I have the Calamity mod installed (along with a few others) and when I generate a new world, it gets 3/4 done with the world, including most Calamity biomes, but upon attempting to load the last biome, it crashes my Terraria. Players should be careful when mining near the Underground Crimson/Corruption and Hallow biomes very early in Hardmode, lest a Biome Mimic spawns and catches the player unaware.
